If you are talking about the stator, you need to remove the left engine side cover, remove the bolt that is holding the fly wheel to the crankshaft, then use a flywheel puller to get the flywheel off the crankshaft, then remove the 3 screws holding the stator to the cases. Unplug the electrical connection for the stator and reverse the procedure for reassembly. Use a new gasket, and be sure to apply Yamabond 4 to the case cover across the rubber plug for the wires and extend the yamabond down the cover gasket surface about 1" past the rubber on each side.
Use some lock tite when putting the screws back in to the new stator. You do not want them coming loose on you!
Make sure you get the bolt holding the flywheel tight when going back together.
That should fix you up!
Thanks

2002 Yamaha YZF-R1, coolant leaking from weep hole after seals were changed.

Question edited for clarity and typo 'weephile'.
Question moved from Misc to model category.

Screeching is dry metal on metal abrasion. Take it all apart and get some water pump grease on the shaft or replace it completely.

Seems to be a known issue
