Misfires 1992 Suzuki GSX-R1100

Gsxr1100k splutters at 30mph even after cleaning carbs, sorry forgot to add I had carbs balanced too, any solutions would be much appreciated @

Hi, Anonymous and the usual suspects are:
1. Severely discharged or a damaged battery should have 12.5 volts or more and be able to pass a proper "LOAD" test if necessary, you may have a cursory reading of 12.5 volts or more but little or zero amperage the battery is faulty and must be replaced, AGM batteries fail in this scenario more so than lead-acid batteries.
2. Check battery terminals for damage or corrosion, check the battery cables at "BOTH" ends for loose, corroded, or broken connectors, "INSIDE" and outside the cable harness, perform connector wiggle test and check cables with an ohmmeter if necessary.
3. Spark plugs in bad condition or partially fouled.
4. Spark plug cables in bad condition and leaking check for spark leakage in the dark
5. Spark plug gap too close or too wide.
6. Faulty ignition coil, module, and or sensor.
7. Loose, dirty, or corroded ignition module connector at crankcase.
8. Faulty CKP or CMP, MAP, ETS, ATS, TPS, O2 sensor.
9. Dirty air filter.
10. Intake air leak.
11. Water, dirt, or rust in the fuel system.
12. Carburetor contaminated, sticky float, plugged jets.
13. Carburetor has oil in the bowl due to excessive oil in pre-mix.
14. Carburetor vacuum diaphragm torn, cracked, not seated or installed improperly.
15. Multiple carburetors out of sync.
16. Fuel filter clogged.
17. Old or contaminated fuel.
18. Fuel tank vent system plugged or carb vent line closed off.
19. Gas cap diaphragm valve faulty.
20. Vacuum line from the intake manifold to fuel valve is broken, cracked, pinched, or missing.
21. Carburetor controls misadjusted.
22. Incorrect valve timing.
23. Valve springs floating, weak, or broken.
24. Damaged intake or exhaust valve.
25. Incompatible performance parts.
26. The control module may be in "LIMP" mode
27. Check for engine trouble codes.

FI = Fuel Injection. The FI computer is telling you that it has detected a problem and the code for that problem is "C13". Telephone your dealer and ask what that code C13 indicates is wrong. Then you can determine if you want to try the fix, i.e. "clean the air filter", or if the shop must do it, i.e. "# 3 injector is restricted".

I had a similar problem with my Vulcan years ago, it turned out to be the Ignition Wires. Check to see if you get spark while the bike is hot.

Bike starts and idles smooth and evenly(no skip beats or rev changes).when I then attempt to rev engine it proceeds to splutter and can not get any power to even move off in 1st gear.

Could be some dirt or moisture in the carberattor try loosening the drain screw on the bottom of the bowl. If this doesn't work the carb needs a good clean.

Starts but mis fires

I know it sounds too simple but the aircleaner element is worth checking. Even if it looks only a little grey still replace it. Are the spark plugs fouling?? If so I would do the air filter replacement.

Hi i have a yz125 an it seems like its missfireing it starts fine an tickes over. it just when u go to ride it its spluttering like hell if you slip the clutch an get revs up hight it will go but...

Was it sitting around all winter? Try cleaning the carbs- usually means replacing o-rings and gaskets, possible even jets if really clogged.

My 98 kdx 200 misses when getting into high revs, so it doesnt get to high revs at all, just misses and splutters, even when you in neutral and hold the throttle open just doesnt get to that constant revs,...

Please do not run this bike again... take it to a QUALIFIED PROFESSIONAL and have him clean and set the carburetor!!. Change the transmission oil also. Make sure the exhaust is clean and dry.. UNBURNT fuel in the exhaust is inviting a fire/explosion!!

Bike coughs,splutters and even backfires more so in low rev's

Either take the carbs off and clean them or add some fuel additive to clean the system. Sounds like you have a clogged jet.

yes clean carbs, use Berrymans B12 fuel additive in the gas, double dose run til hot, then put it away overnight. try next day. also change fuel filter if it's been standing all winter long.

you can try spray in carb cleaner too, remove aircleaner, raise slider in carb with finger or something and spray a bunch in there, let it sit overnight to get to work and try next day

also if fuel is old then get fresh
