that shop missed the problem. dodge durangos have a common ****** problem. Is there any codes on it. It sounds as your 1st and 2nd shift solenoid are not working
Most likely the safety switch for the kickstand - it's supposed to kill the engine if the kickstand is down nd you put the bike in gear. That switch could be faulty or a wiring issue with it. Use a meter to check the switch.
does the clutch push normally or is the linkage broken not disengaging clutch, and then does shifter move around or locked and wont move, loose linkage in shifter or gears are jammed inside transmission and something went, if shifter wont move at all then trans is jammed inside and needs repair.
get the computer failure codes, also may be one or more of your transmission shift solenoid sensors. any one of transmission sensors could cause this. they are a lot less expensive. re-post with failure codes
May be possible that clutch is disengaging when shifting to first and/or drive not fully switched into first gear. Your 1st gear light may be lit, but actually isnt in a ready state.
