Check the battery connections to earth and to the starter solenoid. They may have got corroded or a poor connection.

SOURCE: New battery in 03 VW Passat, engine turns but will not start.

Possible flooding, cold weather can freez open injectors causing them to leak into the cylinders. Press the gass pedal all the way to the floor and crank the engine for no more than 60 seconds. The cylinders will clear themselves allowing proper mix of air/fuel and should start easy. If that does not solve please specify if the engine is 1.8l or 2.8l.

SOURCE: priming fuel system on a 8.1L diesel engine 2001chev 1 ton dual

Well, one problem is, if its an 8.1, its not a diesel. The 8.1, or Vortec 8100, is a gas engine. The DuraMax is a 6.6 engine. There is usually not a priming system on a gas engine, because the fuel pumps will usually get it through the smaller filters used quick enough you dont need them. However, if it is a DuraMax engine, then right on top of the fitting where you mount your diesel filter, there is a primer pump and an air bleed valve. What you do is, open up that air bleed valve ( its a little black plastic octagon shaped thing on the top of the filter mount) then you pump the primer (the silver button looking thing) until you get diesel squiting out the air vent without too many air bubbles or gurgles.

SOURCE: 1998 suzuki gsxr750 fuel pump inop after replacing filter

You cannot bleed the fuel injection system.Test the pump alone (not on the bike) for sufficient fuel supply. Also check the fuel pump relay.
If all that is ok next time you try to crank the engine (only with kill switch on, the fuel pump primes up) with lifted tank and opened air box, spray a bit of carb cleaner spray towards the throttle bodies. It will help.

SOURCE: Road King fuel pump will not prime?

You have a couple of electrical checks you can do first. Yes this will be somewhat painful. The other item is if you go through these troubleshooting steps you won't be happy if your fuel pumps DOA.
First replace your fuse, I know it may look good, but replace it anyway. Next check your relays, then under your speedo console there is a connector on the tank. If this connector has been unplugged it is very easy to bend the pins inside, check for that. Check for power to the pins. If you have power and still no working pump, then it is an entirely different task and somewhat costly.
A bad fuel pump is not a real fun replacement sometimes it is however not a bad idea to replace the whole ball of wax which can run you about $400 for parts at retail. If you conclude your pump is bad just post with your year and model. Hope this helps,

Changed feel pump on shadow 1100 now gas is in oil tail pipe and running out overflow tube put a mr gasket fuel pump from autozone

Check for burst or leaking fuel lines. Check the rated fuel pressure recommended by manufacturer. Most fuel injected cars have standard pressure below 5 psi. Check the fuel pressure regulator too. Fuel pressure too high can cause injectors to leak and cause overflow and poor combustion.

Bike will not start

Check the fuses, especially the fuel pump fuse. Then, check to see if voltage is getting to the fuel pump wires. (1 wire should get battery voltage) If fuse and voltage to pump is good, replace fuel pump.
Fuel pump replacement requires a special tool.

Had battery for winter put back in will run for 20 sec or so and but will start right back up for 20 sec and shut down

sounds like a fuel problem. If the battery was bad I doubt it would start and run. You didn't mention if it was carbureted or injection. Some gas can sour in a few months and that might be part of the problem. Dump some fuel treatment in and let it sit overnight. I use the stuff in the red bottle because it doesn't cause corrosion like the yellow bottle. You could have a clogged filter. Can't guarantee the isopropyl will clean it but that is a cheap and easy start. Depending on the year of the bike, you might have to change the gas filter.

Before I store my bike or mower or snow blower, I add Sta-bil gas treatment. It somehow prevents the gas from turning to goo and plugging everything up. I had a car sit for three years with that added to a full tank and it started and ran fine when I got back to it.

hope this helps and good luck.

I got a road king classic 2007 and it has never been started, it has sat in storage. What do you suggest I do first?

drain the gas and replace with new, do an oil change and check the levels of the primary case and gear box. check your battery hopefully it was disconnected and has been on a battery tender or you have a new one. check the operation of the clutch cable and brakes and lube them if necessary. check tires for cracking and pressure. Some of this may not be necessary if the bike was properly stored and maintained.
