The crankshaft is like the heart of your engine. everything needs to be taken off to get to it. first remove the exhaust and carburetor, and anything else that needs to be removed to get the engine out of the frame. then remove both the left and right engine case covers, after draining the oil. on the left side there is going to be a large flywheel with a big nut in the center. that nut needs to be loosened with an impact wrench, and you need a special puller to get the fly wheel off. then remove the electronics mounted behind it. go to the other side, and there is going to be a large clutch basket. directly in front of that is the other end of the crankshaft. its going to have 1, maybe 2 gears with a big nut holding them on. use the impact again to remove this nut. you might have to remove the clutch basket to slide the gears off of the end of the crank. then loosen the bolts to get the cylinder off, then remove the motor mounts and get the engine out of the frame. once its out, then remove the cylinder and head, and pull the piston off. there is going to be several bolts holding the two center engine cases together. you must find and remove them all. then when those are off the engine cases should slide apart pretty easily. be careful though, because the gears on the transmission tend to slide off when your doing this, and they can be tricky to get back on their shaft. once the cases are apart, then the crankshaft will slide out. sometimes it takes a few good hits with a mallet to get it out. if you need any more detailed information, let me know. ive never worked on your specific model, but this is a basic procedure that works on almost all small engines. there may be some variations though. but for the most part, follow these steps and take your time. its going to be a good 4 or 5 hour job to replace the crank if your a good mechanic. if you have never done this before, I STRONGLY recommend you have an experienced tech do it. there are a lot of small parts, and you have to be very careful with how it is put back together. theres a lot to take into account when assembling an engine. if you do want to try it out, then I recommend you at least get a service manual, or have the guidance of a good mechanic. good luck!
Take the engine out and completely disassemble the engine and cases as the cases need to be split to get crankshaft out... You will want someone to help you that has more experience, as it sounds like you don't have a lot.. Not saying it's a bad thing but when it is this serious help is good...
