89 Fzr 600 wont start

I have an 89 Fzr 600 and when i attempt to start the bike the selaniod just clicks repeatedly. I swapped it out with no resolve. I've checked the starter motor (it turns) and now think its the relay. I have the wiring chart but the wiring on the bike doesnt match the diagram. Can anyone offer some insight on how to check the relay?

Fzr 600 wont start

What is the condition and age of the battery? I would start with charging it and checking for holding the charge first if unsure. Then check for other suspects like starter relay/solenoid or starter itself.

My 89 fzr 600 @4.5000-5.000 rpm backfires. im new to road bikes and need help. cheers lads!

Too much fuel is getting through the carbs. The carbs either need setting up properly or the correct size jets refitting.

Hi, i'v got a yamaha fzr 600 3he, 89, it seems to be running rich, i'v adjusted the needles to the leanist setting but still no joy, it bogs wen pulling away so i have to rev it fairly hard, it will pick...

carefully check plug leads and caps for cracks and shorting, there can be a small resister in the cap that can burn out, check by unscrewing the small brass clip that clips it to the spark plug inside the cap

Bike bogs out at mid range and will not accelerate

Measure with a voltmeter the charging circuit for normal operation (battery, regulator/rectifier and generator).

Bike wont stay running

If the bikes charging system is not working there will be no power to the coils, and no spark (once the battery is drained). Try putting a good, fully charged battery in the bike and check the charging system.

There are certainly several things that could cause the symptoms you describe. Based on the information you have provided that is what I would check first.

Bike wont start

You have to check the starter motor, prolly the brushes are gone . Also check the connections from battery to the solenoid and from the solenoid to the starter.

Good Luck.

91 yamaha fzr engine turns but wont start

the floats in the carb are stuck. you can try lightly tapping on the carb with a screwdriver that should do the trick.
