To start with, you have a throttle body instead of a carburetor. On that throttle body is a component called an air control valve. That valve is how the computer controls the idle speed. It should open and close the air flow into the intake manifold as needed. Is the check engine light on when you are driving ? Have you checked the fuel pressure ?
replace the idle air control valve and that will solve your problem good luck, hope this helps, here is a picture of the part and a diagram of its location on the motor.
sounds like you need to rebuild your carb. I just had mine done for my jeep the hardest part was finding someone to do it. ps mine only cost 50 bucks so dont get ripped off. good luck and hope this helps.
when the battery goes dead it looses its memory on engine settings like idle speed.. two things you can do first one is to clean the throttle bore with carb cleaner... the other is to start with foot on gas and slowly bring it back to idle... it will pick up the idle air position to keep itself running if you do it slowly... everything happens over time so as the throttle gets dirty the computer makes these adjustment on its own and when the battery dies it starts out basicly at different percentage of idle control tht it really needs because of the carbon buildup on the throttle plates
Change all the filters (fuel and air). check and see if all your spark plugs are firing or just change them. if it is fuel injected make sure your injectors are working. Hope something there helps get it running good.
