thanks for the input, im going to check the fuel pressure tonight, i changed the fuel filter 300 miles ago and it was blacccck gas that came out of it, and it ran super good for about 15 miles and then it started running the same as before, im going to change the filter again this weekend just to see how it looks, filters are cheap so its worth it.

im not sure its not the rear end, the reason i dont think it is the rearend is that it doesnt start whining until after 20 or 30 miles, also it goes away as soon as i let off of the gas. im going to take out the rear seat and drive it for a while and maybe that will give me a better idea where its comeing from for this will not muffle the sound as much. would you know if there is any easier way to get to the pump other than droping the drive shaft, exaust, and what not, it just doesnt sound like much fun to do on my garage floor.

    thanks for the input

Are you sure the noise isn't the rear end? The CTS is notorious for rear end gears whining at those speeds.

Have the fuel pump tested sounds like it is not working as it should. It may be able to be repaired but most likely you will need it replaced this will sort out your issue. Raz,....

Good luck fuel pump on my 94 Silverado is not pumping enough pressure at high speeds when I push it to the floor will have shifting problems

Try new fuel filter before going to hassle of fuel pump change. Not sure what shifting problems you are talking of...automatic or manual? Shifting at high speed? You mean high rpm or absolute speed ..+60 mph?

Dodge 2006 caravan sxt 3.8L. Engine started running very sluggishly 2 weeks ago. Worse at low speed such as 0 - 10 mph. Cruising at 65 mph and then to say 5 mph in traffic causes engine to appear to "

Depending on the actual code for the O2 sensor, the fuel pressure may be low at times. You may want to look at fuel pressure and delivery.

WHen driving the van will be sluggish until after 45 mph.No problems starting .Feels like a pull underneath the chassis. Is this a fuel line, fuel pump problem?? Thank you

It's not likely to be a fuel supply type of problem as it would be worse at higher speeds. Sound more like a problem with the EGR valve which can cause a lean mixture. It may also be caused by a tired O2 sensor which is slow to respond. You may need access to a scan tool to figure it out.

1993 toyota camry runs sluggish what should i do i think it needs a new fuel filter but not sure car runs fine other than sluggishness idles ok but very little power on take off it eventually gets up to...

Bring it to Auto zone parts store to check if any trouble codes are present they will hook up a scanner for free, the code if present will point you in the right direction if no codes are present the car most likely needs a tune up, when these vehicles get older the fuel injectors become less efficient and need professional cleaning, O2 sensors should be changed every 60 to 80,000 miles whether the check engine light is on or not.

Engine shutting down in extreme heat

Mine does the same thing as far as shutting down on long trips---usually 1 1/2 - 2 hours. I don't think it's overheating....it's got something to do with antitheft system
