Question about Yamaha V Star 1100 Custom Motorcycles

Looking for a replacement for my 1989 Yamaha Virago XV 1100 Motorcycle Fuel Pump. Any generics or different years which would be suitable for use. Don't see my exact model as a selection.

Can use a Mr Gasket 12S Electric Fuel

most auto speed stores carry it

would need 2 1/8npt fittings for the hose barb's to match your hose size

5 amp fuse

Turns but does not start


There are so many things! Firstly check spark to the plugs and fuel to the system and the cylinders. Then check timing. After that it gets complicated!

Fuel being being pumped out off r/h air filter for a few seconds, does it when trying to start as well!


it's normal for it to run for 5-10 seconds if you turn the key but do not start the car it will shut off.
