I have no clue why it back fires. i had a torch spark plug in when i got it it work and it started to die so 1 day i was goin to ride at my friends and it wouldnt start we sparyed engine starting fluid in it and it work fine. then when i got a new spark plug (ngk) it worked fine when i rode it then it sat for 1 day the wouldnt start. it has a spark, but when you try to start it, it sounds like your trying to catch it in gear, then theres a loud back fire can someone help this is driving me crazy thanks, ry this bike is a 2000 model !!
Your bike has a diaphragm on the carb. Every time you twist the throttle a shot of gas goes into the cylinder. Chances are you are flooding the engine by twisting the throttle too often. Flooding can create a backfire. Start with a clean dry plug. Twist the throttle once then leave it alone for about six kicks. Repeat the process if needed.
