IF the 1000 is the same as the 750 setup, then you will take the crank shaft end cap off of the left side of the engine. There is also an inspection screw that you need to take out next to the cap. Inside the screw hole you will see a pointer. Turn the crank till you see a T come up on the crank shaft and line up with the pointer. This is the TDC of the engine. Now, you set your cam timing by lining up the markers on each cam with that on the head.
