The float may b sticking...depending on what type of carb ur running...the spit and sputter problem sounds like you are running a keean carb and if thats the case...there is a extra setting on those that is leaded in from the factory that your average joe doesnt know about...have someone familiar with this adjust it for you and that will help some ...however if itis a keean either live with it or change carbs...that spit you described is just how they operate

My car is stalling when idling and sputtering when driving like it is losing power

Try some gas line anti freeze (methle hydrate) It will dissipate water which may have been at the bottom of the tank. If he put regular gas and you put super, add octane boost. and drive for half hour and it will clear.

Sputtering and stalling

Have the fuel pressure tested, running out of gas will destroy the fuel tank moumted fuel pump or cause it to run slow with the resulting loss of power.

Bad fuel pump, stopped up fuel filter, mabey? First check for vacume leaks.... may try unplugging the throttle position sensor. Plug it right back in... just check the connection.

My 1997 Nissan Quest Van when I start it it's okay, but when I accelerate the gas it starts to sputter. These miniture backfires go on but when I release the gas pedal the sputtering stops. I am n

the first thing I would start with is looking for vaccume leaks. be sure to check your EGR valve, then move to your MAP sensor. The next thing that it could be is a stopped up catylic converter

Bike sputtering and stalling out when revving

If it is bad gas then you need not only drain the tank but the carbs as well.

If the tank has the valve with three positions on it such as on, off and pri.
then you need to put it in the pri position after you remove the main outlet fuel line from the tank and make sure you have a suitable container to catch it in.

On the bottom of the carbs you'll find a screw which i think requires a phillips screw driver. You'll need to back those screws out until you have a fuel flow coming from the bottom of the carbs. After that close down the screws and replace the fuel lines. Leave it in the pri position until after you have put new gas in the tank. Once, this is done then turn the lever to the on position and it should start. If it doesn't then it could be dirt in the carb or no fuel flow to the carbs re blockage in the tank filter. I do believe also, that this pitcock may have a diaphragm in
it. If it doesn't then you shouldn't have a pri on the petcock lever on the tank.

Try this before, looking anywhere else.
Good luck,

Sudden loss of power, Backfiring, starts then stalls

Your timing belt could be broken. You want to have this checked as soon as possible to prevent any further engine problems.
