I'm trying to sync up 4 carbs on a 1977 Suzuki 750 gs (project bike). Problem is all awnsers i found for tuning carbs, people seem to have only an air screw or a fuel screw to adjust. On my carbs, I have both fuel and air screws. How do i adjust both to get perfect settings on all 4? I will be calibrating them with a cabr synchronization tool. Also, I can't seem to find proper connection for vaccum hoses for this bike. I know some go to valve breather box, fuel petcock and some closed off. is this something that is stadard on all bikes?
The throttle screw and air screw are set in the same manner. Turn the screw inward until it LIGHTLY seats then back it out one and one half turns. You now have them set at the factory settings. Once synchronized, the carbs should be balanced. This requires a set of vacuum gauges and some training. A hose diagram might be found in a service manual. Go to this site and you can download a free PDF service manual. www.carlsalter.com/motorcycle-manuals.asp Most all of the manuals are in English but some are not. There is no way to be sure without doing the download. You can always delete it if in a foreign language. Please rate this answer. The throttle screw and air screw are set in the same manner. I am having a simular issue with my carbs! I have the same bike with the vm 26mm mikuni carbs. I can not seem to get the bench sync correct. Please any help would be gretly appreaciated. So this is how ive been syncing them. 1st loosen all 4 adjusting screws for the slides. With the idle set screw turned all the way out I adjust the slides to the close position by turning the adjusting screws CW direction. Once all 4 are closed I turn the idle set screw in until I can slide a .075mm pin under the lowest set slide then adjust the other 3 to the same height by adjusting the adjusting srew again. Is this correct and if not what am I doing wrong?I am having a simular issue with my carbs! I have the same bike with the vm 26mm mikuni carbs. I can not seem to get the bench sync correct. Carb sync is done using only the carb hard stop adjustment u don't touch the air fuel mixture screw, had this exact same bike had the serive manual am dead sure on this
So in the case that they have been removed you would set them at 1 1/2 turn?So in the case that they have been removed you would set them at 1 1/2 turn?

HI,,,you have blocked carbs,,they are running lean, thats why it runs better with the choke on,,carbs need to be removed from the bike disasembled and cleaned.
you will need to fix the fuel tap and try again.
The vac line opperates the vacumn tap, so the fuel shouldnt flow unless there is vacumn. either you are running it on prime or the tap is jammed open and can cause flooding in all the carbs.
You may also need a new air cleaner element
Theres a set on ebay right now bud http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/77-SUZUKI-GS-750-GS750-GOOD-SET-OF-CARBURETORS-CARBS_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQhashZitem3a59c70406QQitemZ250614318086QQptZMotorcyclesQ5fPartsQ5fAccessories
You need to fix the fueling first - without fuel it won't run!
Your other problem sounds like an air leak - either the manifold or the carb. Check by spraying WD-40 or CRC at the manifold and carb join while the bike is running - if the revs change (either up or down) you have a leak.
the solution is very simple there are 2 nipples underneath the petrol tank the upper nippel should be conected to the venturi nipple because this on opens the valve (can try by light sucking on it) the second ore lower nippel should be conected to the carbs there is a conection in the middle of the four carb's please be sur you use fresh petrol and clean the carbs (using compressed air)
when you try without cleaning filter it wil run but not wen you open the trottle (it's because of the vacuum carb's they need the veturi that is placed in the air filter compartment)
