Remove the headlight to get to the wires inside the headlight housing. The wires are color coded; white to white, black to black, blue to blue, etc. Look for loose and disconnected wires and fittings. Find the headlight switch wires and check the switch with a volt ohmmeter. Is power getting to the switch? Look for any burned wires also.

Timing problem zxr750h1

Hi Darren, it's Chris. I'm tipping you'd like to have exploded view diagrams of every part of the motor then......

http://www.cmsnl.com/kawasaki-1989-h1-zx750_model12897/partslist/ Brilliant site this!

Otherwise do a search for manuals thru these Fixya links about manuals, or search "ur model name" forums for links about tuning etc......that's why I have a laptop in the bike shed!
Cheers.

I have been offered a zxr 750 1992 the one with the two pipes that go over the tank which model is this thanks paul

I had a G reg one of those .That was an H1 model. that would be 1989/1990 . There was an H2 model the next year followed J1 & J2 models then K1 etc. I reckon that makes yours a J2 .The paintwork tends to bear that out too. It took Kawasaki all those years to sort the rear suspension out !! Hope this helps. Barry

Clutch lever sudenly becomes hard to compress after short run????

I would not trust that clutch cable. Chances are it is pretty old. It could leave you stranded in traffic. Get a new, worry free, clutch cable. Also, change the gearbox oil, 10w40, and install a new oil filter. The gearbox oil could be dirty and gritty and impeding the operation of the clutch.

Please rate this solution. Thanks!
