  • Anonymous May 11, 2010

The fuel filter can't get oil in it,unless it comes from the fuel tank.To help you with your problem,I hope you can give us more information. The bike is a four stroke so no oil is needed in the fuel mix. Thanks

My 2000 park avenue starts fine but once it warms up it spits and sputters then dies and it wont start

If it is backfiring and dying I would be willing to bet you have a crank angle sensor going out when it get warmed up. Also check to see if your fuel pump is running by listening in the gas door with the cap off. I have had them do this when the fuel pump gets hot it quits pumping fuel.

Why would the car start, rub smooth for about 30 seconds ,started sputtering, then backfired and quit running, all so the vehicle was very low on oil and my husband told them to put at least 3 quarts of

Not sure what type of car this is. So generally, this could be cause by a faulty fuel filter. They can get 'full' and block the gas from getting to the engine.

What would make a car start then run smooth for 30 seconds then sputter and then backfire as it quit running?

Points to lack of fuel! Do you run low on fuel? This causes rust and sediment in fuel to be sucked into fuel lines and cause blockages! Could have damaged or faulty fuel pump! Fuel filter could be blocked...when last changed?

97 kia sephia, replaced battery, plugs, wires, cap, rotor, air filter, fuel filter, added heet water removal and lucas fuel injector. It sputters, backfires/pops when accelerating and it has no power,...

As you have replaced all the obvious things that could cause the symptoms it may be a good idea to have a cylinder compression test done , if comes back OK i'd try a fuel addative , one that covers the catalytic convertor , as there are many sensor's involved in the fuel/exhaust system as you know , this addative will clean any residue affecting there reading's , hope this helps

Replaced fuel filter & fuel pump and screen.

not positive but in the air breather there is a mass air flow sensor and sometimes air filter particles gets stuck on the sensor. It will look like a white piece of lint,if there is be careful to remove it and try it.Usually a backfire and sputtering is the signs
