Hi, Bruce I would really love to help you with your motorcycle question but due to the magnitude of yesterday's solar flare the batteries in my crystal ball are dead and my mental telepathy headset circuitry was melted. I need the year, make, and model of your motorcycle please click on " Ask For More Information" directly below and provide this information in the box that will open and then click on the green "SEND" box in the bottom right-hand corner. Good luck and have a wonderful day.

Jumping out of gear after eng gett up to running temp . backfiring & running ruff on low end after eng warms uo

Probably need to change the transmission filter and run some stop slip through it. The rough running and backfiring can be a few different things. It'll help me answer your problem if you'll tell me a little more about the jeep. What year is it? What engine is in it? How long has it been since the last tune up?

Yamaha vstar 1100 back fireing

Re-jetting the carbs may be needed.
Imbalance of air/gas ratio will cause backfiring among many other things. :)

Other considerations:
Have the timing and valves set.

After market pipes will also increase the Poping sound when you let off the throttle. (not really backfiring but annoying)
Removing and plugging the AIS system will stop most of this.

Good luck!
Hope this helps.

you probably have time 180 degrees out....4 steps....(1)piston top dead center...(2) camshaft aligned with marks...(3) dist set for #1 cyl to fire ...and (4) timing marks on damper pulley aligned with marker on the cover or eng block...good luck

Leaking gas frm bottom and does not run right

the float may b sticking...depending on what type of carb ur running...the spit and sputter problem sounds like you are running a keean carb and if thats the case...there is a extra setting on those that is leaded in from the factory that your average joe doesnt know about...have someone familiar with this adjust it for you and that will help some ...however if itis a keean either live with it or change carbs...that spit you described is just how they operate

Won't start. Has compression. backfiring through

On many riding mowers there are two wires that at the bottom of the carb bowl, these wires go to a solenoid which closes a valve so gas will shut-off when the start key is turned off. When this solenoid is bad it will not close which let gas keep going to the carb so the eng will bang through the carb or muffer. Hope that this will Help. Hugh Lyon
