Carbs out of balance will cause the clutch to judder, but clutch basket wear is common and is the remedy if you dont get rid after carb balance. most just live with it! unless it is really noisey

Maytag top load washing machine 2 years old

Hi,

This could be partly the clutch/break assy. You need to be able to run this with the lid open in the spin position. Activte the lid switch with a pencil or something. Reach in and hold the spin basket and then turn the washer on in spin. Hold this basket for 1-2 minutes then release it and let it reach full speed then stop the washer by turning the timer off or releasing the lid switch. See if the hard breaking/noise is better. Keep doing this untill it comes to a smooth stop and the noise is gone at the stop. Not sure this will cure the noise in the spin starting up problem or not, but start here. the clutch gets rust on the pads and this burnishes the break pads, removing this rust that makes it grab.

Goodluck..

Clutch knocking noise when idling

Id bet if you pulled the clutch cover and pulled the clutches out of the basket the basket is damaged where the clutch plates make contact with the basket. The rectangle slots in the outside of the basket.

Recently there is a lot of scratchy noise coming from an engine of my 2003 V-max when I rev it above 3000 rpm. It goes away when the clutch is pulled. Everything is functioning just fine, except that noise...

If noise goes away when clutch is pulled then it is a loose clutch basket, you need to replace clutch basket and clutch,They make complete replacment kits. Its not a big deal but I would stop riding it till you replace worn parts.Running it the way it is will result in a blown clutch and could do more damage. If you have some mechanical ability you can change this yourself.Good Luck Brian.....

Hi, I have a 1995 GL1500 and it has a slight light rattle at idle when hot. It has covered 55000 mls, i have checked valve timing and carb balance all seems good. bike runs perfect except for noise, any...

Does the noise stop when in neutral with the clutch handle pulled in? If so it may be normal. I have a 1999 Honda Valkyrie (has the same engine setup as your wing) and it is noisey with the clutch handle released at idle, but the noise goes away when the clutch handle is pulled in.

Another thought.......Have you recently adjusted the valves? If not they may need adjusting.

Hope this helps.

Hi, peugeot 206 clutch/engine problem..

It seems like the clutch pressure plate has given in. Best would be to replace the clutch pro-kit.( Clutch pressure plate, clutch plate and release bearing)
