Check wiring connections under tank, this was a common fault that the EGR valve plug came of or the Lambda sensor had poor connection, another favourite is jump starting a dead bike from a car, 85+ amps 12v into 16 amsp dont go and stiffs the ecu voltage control unit, ouch!

I have a 2007 Toyota corolla 3zz. Swapped the block with 1zz-fe engine runs fine but for some reason the EML (engine Management Light comes on while driving? Any cause of concern? Car is running just fine.

There is some cause for concern - while the engine light is on the management system is switched off and it is running on the get-you-home programme that is likely to shorten the life of the catalytic converter and oxygen sensor.

I would guess you refitted all the 3zz electronics to the 1zz-fe engine. There appears to be significant differences in specification between the two engines and it would have been an unwise conversion without either fitting the 1zz management system or having the 3zz management system remapped by an expert.

  • NOTE: A rich problem gets worse as the engine heats up.

  • NOTE: A lean problem gets better as the engine heats up.

Daytona 955i (02) ran rough display went blank management light

When there is no charging system operational, the bike will run wih battery in total loss mode. When it gets to a certain point of discharge, the first indication is indeed as you saw, the intruments go blank. There is little power left at this point and need to get home asap!

Either the R/R (rectifier/regulator) and/or the stator is bad - both are unfortunately quite common failures on these bikes.

You can find a diagnosis guide that I personally authored at this site:
http://www.triumphrat.net/speed-triple-forum/104504-charging-system-diagnostics-rectifier-regulator-upgrade.html

Follow those guidelines and you will be able to determine which or both is failed.
Also is a recommendation for a retrofit/upgrade to a better component if you do need to replace the R/R.

Can't get the revs below 3500rpm

Remove the negative battery connection and leave it disconnected for about 15 minutes. That should reset your engine management system. I would try a different battery if you have one handy, or maybe put yours on a battery charger. For the problem to appear suddenly after six weeks without running the bike my best guess is the battery is not functioning properly.

Good luck.
