2011 Triumph Sprint GT high idle

I have a 2011 Triumph Sprint GT, the bike is idling high after riding, it idles at 2000 rpm for about 30-60 sec then drops to 1000 rpm, can anyone help.

Have you had it tuned up lately...if you had the valves adjusted, the intake valves are too tight...if no one has been adjusting your valves.. you might have an air leak..??
Does the engine rpm's "kinda float" around for a few seconds..idling high then settle back to normal..? .. YES. then its a classic symptoms of too tight intake valves.

Testimonial: "no recent service has just clicked 13000 km, mmm air leak...? does it have an idle speed controller could that be faulty...would fuel injector cleaner help or simply not symptoms for that..?"

Idle speed around 2000 rpm, 1st ride of the year , had this issue. I followed my Manual info and adjusted Cold and Hot adjustments. When restarted the idle was close to normal, but after a minute or 2...
Adjust the idle speed ONLY when the engine is at full operating temp. It should be idled at about 1000 RPM. It will probably be too low when cold and you may have to use the throttle control to keep the engine running until it gets completely warmed up. On the carburetor equipped engines, you cannot adjust the bike where it will idle cold and not be too high when it gets hot. The only way you can get this is with fuel injected models.
