Is it electric or kick start only? And what about the battery? If it has one ,is it any good. Most kick only bikes will run without a battery, but some newer ones need backup for the electronics. Yours being an 81, I would suspect a mouse nest inside the engine cover, something wrong with the stator, alternator, magneto, whatever you have on it. Down below on left side is where the wires come out of the case and go into a junction, it is the junction for the alternator, see if the screws are not rusted, and the wires are intact. Check out the air filter and the wires to the coil. Low compression will prevent it from starting. There could be a number of things stopping it. Hope this helps.

hi i have a suzuki gp 125 1984 its starts up but only on full choke and if you take the choke off, it bogs out, then cuts out. what could this be ?
