How to check codes on 03 883 sportster - 2003 Harley Davidson XL 883 R Sportster

With a TSM if the four-way flashers flash 6 times shortly after the ignition switch is turned to ON you should check for DTC's that have been set. d1a9 is not a 2005 Sportster code.

Read your service manual on how to retrieve your error codes. Then look up what those error codes mean. If the engine seems to run fine now, try clearing the codes and see if they show up again. If they do look into what the code is warning you about and check that item.
