SOURCE: Motorcycle 650 Yamaha throttle problems

Check your carb there is a retaining spring holding the carb throttle lever down/back to close. Sounds it is not in its place. Good help?

Did you remove the pilot jets from the carbs? You have to remove them and ream them with a small peace of wire or compressed air. Hold them up to the light and make sure you can see thru them. Make sure the jet is completely clear, the hole should be nice and round with no obstruction.
