I have a Predator 7000 - 8750 it will start on choke but start shaking and will not run off of choke or start off at you spark plug is dry but black what could be my problem

Lack of fuel or blocked main jet
black is from excess fuel from choke but there is no fuel from the main jet to keep it running

Don't use cold start.it will not solve your problem.Try running it with out the air cleaners ,it may be that you have an air intake problem and not getting the right Air / fuel mixture .

Carby carby carby!
Give the carby a flush with some Carby Cleaner. (retail 400g aerosol can)
Check condition and clamping of inlet manifold for cracks, warping or air leaks.
Reset Slide Needle one notch down.
Turn air mixture screw fully in and back out one and one half turns and try idling now.
When you get engine idling turn the air mixture screw in or out to the highest revs without use of throttle. Reset idle to optimum speed with throttle stop or idle screw.

The pilot circuits are clogged and the engine is trying to flood.

Predator 8750 sounds like it is choking out of fuel. Runs for a while then starts choking and dies. Air filter has been cleaned.
If it produces black smoke when sputtering, then too much fuel and likely a carburetor float inlet needle issue.

Does it start back up or does it die and have to cool off for an hour or so? If it it has too cool down then it could be the ignition module. Check for spark.

It has an OHV engine that requires periodic valve adjustment every 100hqrs or so. Check engine maintenance schedule.

Another component to check is the anti afterfire solenoid. If bbn it's not working properly it will cut off fuel.

If you're running with a mix of stale fuel you need to completely drain all the fuel, including the carburetor bowl and refill with fresh fuel.

Cub cadet with kohler sv725 has compression, and spark wont start even on starting fluid sprayed in carb
There needs to be fuel, air, spark and compression. It may not start with starter fluid if it's already flooded. It may not start if a valve is stuck open.
You can take the sparkplug out and check to make sure it's not got excess fuel. Plug should be dry.

PURCHASED BRAND NEW MS 311 SAW. HAVE SWITCH ON COLD START, HAVE PUSHED BLACK BUTTON IN ON TOP, AM PULLING THE CHORD LIKE THIRTY TIMES. CAN SMELL ALITTLE PETROL BUT IT WONT KICK OVER
Likely it is flooded. Try starting without choke. Move control lever into choke position, then back to start position. This sets a high idle throttle/no choke. Don't touch throttle or it will drop throttle position from high idle to idle. Set decompress and pull starter cord no more than 3x.

You may have to remove spark plug and pull start cord several times to get the excess fuel out of the cylinder and crankcase. Dry spark plug with compressed air or starter fluid. Reinstall spark plug. Pull starter cord no more than 3x. If it doesn't fire, remove plug and inspect tip. If completely dry, no fuel. If wet either no spark or it has flooded again, check for spark.

Lt1050 black smoke after 15 minutes
The black smoke and black spark plugs indicate that the engine is running very rich (ie too much fuel). This could be caused by the choke not opening fully after the engine starts and the fuel mixture is too rich OR the fuel mixture setting is opened too far.
Check the choke lever, make sure the choke is fully open when the choke is in the running position.
When the engine is running with the throttle is in the 3/4 rev position then adjust the fuel mixture to get the highest RPM.

Weedeater gbi 20 leaf blower will not start, how do I start it and what could be the cause?
Start procedure is, switch igbition on, lever to full choke, pull until it fires once, do not continue pulling with full choke, move choke to central position, crank engine until it runs, once warm move choke to off, if it refuses to start, drain the fuel tank and re fill with fresh mix, remove spark plug and check for a spark by earthing the plug against the cylinder, if after many pulls the spark plug is dry, there is a blockage in the carb, remove the air filter cover, remove the two allen screws holding the carb on, remove the single screw securing the alloy pump cover, under the diaphram is a filter, replace this filter, rebuild and try again.

1200 zrx. starts but sounds like only running on 2 cylinders cuts out if you put choke of ?
Pull the plugs, if they are black dry and sooty those cylinders are running too rich which may be why it's cutting out when you put the choke on, it's getting too much fuel.

If they are wet and smell of gas you have no spark to those cylinders.

If it's carbuerated, then your idle jets or main jets are possibly clogged if the bike has not been run in awhile.

Could also be the coil is not firing to those two cylinders, check for spark first then check compression.

Check your choke cable adjustment also to make sure it's working properly.

Hi and welcome to FixYa I am Kelly.

Things that must be verified.

1. Fuel selector: ON
2. Start run sw: ON
3. Oil Level : Full
4. Choke selector FULL ON for no more than 2 pulls initially The half choke then off
5. Spark at the Spark Plug YES? NO?
a. No spark suspect low oil level sensor is grounding the ignition either due to low oil level or it just is not working properly.

After doing all of the above...

Spark Plug WET or DRY? Dry and still won't start check fuel supply. If you use the choke with the start run switch in the off position the spark plug should get WET. Spark plug does not get wet... with choke on and ignition off. Fuel supply problem.

At this point I suspect either the Oil Level is incorrect or... that the FUEL SELECTOR is OFF.

Truck is choking out, not getting gas 1997 jeep wrangler. was running ok, plowed the lot, added gas and continued plowing. the truck started choking out then stopped
you might have picked up gas with water in it ,try putting dry gas in tank and replace fuel filter.
