When it cuts off I would pull spark plug wire and crank and see if it is getting fire at the time it has cut off, if its not sparking the coil is probably getting hot and cutting out. if it is getting fire I would remove the bowl of the carburetor and clean with a wire brush and carb cleaner.. I would make sure the float is moving up and down freely, lastly I would check to make sure the air vent on the fuel system is not blocked. if you continue to have problems after checking those things.. please contact me as I would like to help you get your bike running!

Husquavarna yth150 riding lawn mower is completely none responsive. Battery checks at 13 volts solenoid and starter have voltage. New fuse and spark plug replaced. What do I check now?

A combustion needs three things to occur. Heat, fuel, and air. Did you check the air filter to see if it is clogged? Try starting it without the air filter. Are you getting a spark at the spark plug? I assume you have gas in the tank, but is it getting to the combustion chamber?

Here are a few tips to look at, I would first check your inline fuel filter to make sure its not clogged up. See Page 26 of the Manual for additional help.

Toro Timecutter 14.38Z Model 74301 Briggs & Stratton Engine Model 280H07-0166-E1 Has NIKKI carb Starts & runs for ~ 15 minutes then stops. Will restart after 5 minutes rest and run...

Recheck spark when the unit cuts out. I am gonna guess you spent a lto of money chasing a bad coil! When a coil starts to go bad they become temperature sensitive. Time does the rest!

Fuel light came on,tank nearly empty, started bike up next morning and idles ok but badly misfires when try to accelerate, filled tank up with mobil 98 octane which i have used before and it still misfires...

Chances are condensation has collected in the carb float bowl. Drain the carb. Yes, keep the tank filled. This will lessen condensation. You may want to install a new spark plug as well.

A job to start, but when it dose it only runs for a few seconds and then cuts out.It is a Honda Rotary.

I would check your air filter and spark plug for the Honda engine. Also you may have water in your fuel tank and carburetor. If there is grass built up on the air filter, replace it. If the spark plug has a black charcoal like substance on it then you will need to clean it. A wire brush will work ok for this. If you do these things and it still won't start then I would empty the fuel tank and drain the contents of the fuel bowl on the carburetor. This is done by loosening a 10 mm bolt on the side of the fuel bowl. Let it drain for a little while and then put some fresh fuel in the fuel tank, after tightening the nut on the side of the carburetor. At this point if the unit will not run correctly I would take it into a Honda Power Equipment repair shop and let them take over. I like to tell my customers, "If it won't start with one or two pulls something is wrong."

Occasionaly the engine shuts off and won't start on JD gx345.

If the fuel pump is working correctly then the problem is between the tank and the pump. run a fuel line from the pump to a gas can. If the pump is working it will siphon the fuel into your filter. If the pump is fine then there is blockage, broken fuel line (sucking air), or something blocking the pick up inside the tank.

Engine cuts out

It sounds like something is preventing the bike from getting fuel. Check fuel filter, fuel tank vent, air filter too. If you have vacuum building up in the tank, letting the bike sit for a few minutes slowly releases that vacuum allowing the pump to pull fuel easily again for a bit. Next time the bike quits open your fuel tank. If you hear a whoosh of air being sucked in look for a plugged vent line. A plugged air filter can have a similar effect but the only way to check that is change the air filter or look at the one you have. It would have to be really, really dirty or plugged with some debris to cause this problem.
