Look at the "cold start sensor".
I have had problems with that on several cars in the last 10 years.
This part, about the size of your thumb, screws into the the engine block, and has a single wire attached to it.
It is identical in appearance to the engine temperature sensor that instructs the electric fan to turn on.
The difference is, this sensor is attached to the computer, and when it fails, it tells the computer wrong information causing hard starting. God bless your efforts.

you need to go to the parts house and purchase an ambient temperature sensor. that is the sensor that tells the car what the outside temp. is. I hope that helps you out.
SOURCE: Truck has trouble starting- runs fine after start
I found the fuel pressure regulator on the fuel rail was leaking fuel into the intake manifold via the vacuum hose. Was hard to start and rough idle. Pull vacuum line and see if fuel is coming out-if so like me-replace it. About 50.00 at Murrays. Also the two inner cylinders on the passenger side-opposite of the vacuum line will be very rich fouled-replace them all

SOURCE: Chevy C-1500 dies after running for a while.
My c1500 is on its 4th fuel pump and machanics all tell me its just a problem with this truck. However They put a napa brand one on after a motor rebuild 3 years ago and I have not had a problem since. You may need to put a fuel injector cleaner through it. There is a valve at the top rail and if it is a vortec you need at least 65 psi there when its runnining the throttle body needs like 35psi.
