My 2007 Yamaha Royal Star Tour Deluxe keeps blowing the main fuse when I turn the key to the on position

The battery shows 12.62 volts, when I replace the blown main fuse the hot wire to the ignition shows 12.62 volts. As soon as I put the key into the ignition it blows the main fuse. Is the ignition bad, does it have water in the ignition, is the key bad or is the ignition module bad?

I'm leaning towards the ignition switch having water in it. We've had quite a lot of rain this Spring. I keep the motorcycle under a roof and covered but, the wind has blown the cover off the bike & the rain in on the bike at times. The main fuse doesn't blow until I turn the ignition switch to the on position. The dash, headlight or taillights don't get a chance to come on before the main fuse blows. I can' get to any power to even attempt to try starting the motorcycle.

Went to start my 2006 Yamaha ROyal Star Tour Deluxe, had no power to ignition or electrical system

sounds like possible bad battery or batttery connections. If battery is more than 4-5 years old thatis a good place to start as it should be replaced anyway.
