Triumph Legend 1998 same as Thunderbird 900motorcycle running badly.

Seems to run on 1 or 2 cylinders on the right. OK on tickover on choke but as revs are increased, left pot does not seem to fire and there is frequent popping in the left exhaust, especially at low speed. Carbs recently overhauled, also filled up with cheap supermarket petrol recently. Checked diaphragm of left carb-ok.

Was the bike working okay after the overhaul? Mis firing due to bad setup or very bad fuel.If it has not run right since the work was carried out ask the repairer to take a look.
If it only started to go awry after using wheap fuel, (it should still be of uniform quality with other fuel,)
I would drain the tank and refill with premium. Try not to get any air into the system if you do this, makes life easier

GOOD LUCK

Bought new LED indicators for my Legend and changed the flasher unit to suit. They flash at proper speed when engine not running, but increase in frequency the more revs are applied. Any ideas, please?

I would check the battery voltage and ensure the battery voltage doesn't go above 14 volts. There may be a regulator fault. If all reads OK with a meter, replace the flasher unit for a more stable one.
Hope this helps and ride safely.

Bike runs fine up to 5000rpm - then hits a brick wall - carbs have been balanced - fuel flow checked - coils ok???

Here might be a fiew things to check :
1) spark plugs try new ones
2) spark plug boots if they are resistor ones one could be bad
3) fuel flow - try running on reserve the tap could be dirty or just not letting enough though had this happen on my cr250 honda

I have a 1997 Triumph Legend, with approx 2200 miles when bought it had been stood for 8 years. would run under 45000 rpm's managed to get it home carried out full service and stripped carbs found pilot...

If it is backfiring on deacceleration you have a fuel mixture problem and need to "sync" the carbs.
Sync Pro carb tuner works well. This is a precise four channel vacuum indicator designed specifically for intake synchronization of engines with multiple carburetors or throttle bodies.
Also, if you have not done so, check your plug wires for defects and resistors, if your wires have them.
Good luck, hope this helps.
