SOURCE: I am install forward controls on my 2005 Dyna. I
OK ... I dont know what kinda kit u have - But I'll answer your question . As u know - there is an inner and outer primary. U can of course remove the outer primary without removing the clutch basket. But if u need to remove the entire primary, you'll have to remove the primary chain and the clutch, as well as the compensating sprocket, and that is a huge job.... I have installed many forward controls and have never had to even open the primary ... Usually, all u need to do is change out the shift rod.... I wouldnt attempt this without a shop manual - good luck
SOURCE: how to change oil in 2003 HD FXD Dyna Super Glide
remove the drain plug from the oil pan, you will need either a 3/4" box wrench or a 5/8" box wrench and the drain plug will be facing forward on the the oil pan. It is easiest to remove this drain plug from under the right side of the bike. put drain plug back in after about 10 m,inutes of drain time and tighten to 18 ft. lbs. Dont forget to change the oil filter as well.
SOURCE: 2002 HD Dyna Super Glide front brake noise at low
If it sounds like "swish-swish" noise, that is nornal for your bike. HD changed the front brakes in the 90's and the result was better stopping performance but there is that darned swishing sound. Don't worry about it, mate, there's nothing wrong with your bike.
Now, if you start to hear squealing when you pull the lever, take the bike to a shop to have the brakes pads replaced. If you feel vibration when you apply the brakes, take it to a shop immediately and have them check the wheel spokes for tightness.
SOURCE: I have a 2005 electra glide standard how much oil
The transmission usually holds 20-24 ounces of H-D Syn3 20W50 oil.
The primary usually holds 36-44 ounces of the same. The best way to fill the primary is to stand the bike up straight and fill the primary until the oil just barely comes to the lower edge of the clutch spring. If you get too much oil in the primary, the clutch will drag and make finding neutral impossible with the engine running.
Good Luck

Pour the oil into the primary through the "derby cover" hole. Remove the derby cover and pour oil in until the level comes up to the bottom of the clutch spring with the bike standing straight up. When you look at the clutch, you can see the outer "aluminum colored" drum. Just inside this, you'll see a black colored disc, this is the clutch spring. Do not fill any higher than the bottom of this disc with the bike standing straight up. It will cause the clutch to "drag" making finding neutral with the engine running impossible. Usually it takes 36 - 44 ounces of oil.
Good Luck
