I've somehow turned on a diversion to an offsite external phone, and cannot turn it off, how can i disable the call diversion (doesn't go through the phone, diverts automatically) FWD and DND is disabled and the originally programmed number has been removed. Yet it still calls through to the external number.

Check that the volume on the handset is turned up, also replace the batteries or put in non-rechargeable ones to get the phone working at full capacity. If bought from Amazon you should be guaranteed for a year, not a month!
Usually when you call your voicemail number there is a voice menu that gives access to settings, where you can configure the voicemail and turn it off as well.
If you have trouble with the above, you can also leave the voicemail available, but prevent the network from redirecting calls to it when no answer/not available. For that you'll have to browse your phone's menu and find "Call Diversion" in your phone's connection settings, and turn off all 3 diversions: on no reply, on not available and on busy.
Not sure what you are talking about here - if you mean an answering service (like an actual receptionist offsite answering your telephone calls) then you need to take your phone off of call forwarding with the string *73 & listen for the phone to have a stuttered tone. Thats it!
I was having the exact same problem and figured the battery or phone was hopeless because I've seen so many negative comments and no solutions. BUT, I kept messing with it and eventually I removed the battery and plugged the charger into the phone WHILE THE BATTERY WAS STILL OUT. Once I put the battery in with current already flowing, somehow, the phone started right up and started charging normally. Not sure if it'll work for every phone but somehow that did the trick for me and I've been messing around with my phone all day with no luck.
On some phones, the lock switch or key disables ALL the buttons, therefore even the on off button will be disabled. unlock it, turn it on, then lock it again.
If your saying that you removed the simlock from the phone and now it wont turn on, then you have unlocked it incorrectly and the phone is only fit for the trash
problem can be solved. How long has it been in the box and when last did you charge the battery of the phone?.
The longer you keep a phone and don't use it, it is likely to affect the phone somehow.
The battery has not been charged for a long period of time and the cell of the battery is weak, that's why the phone is not coming.
You need to charge the battery for longer hour for it to regain the strength to power the phone on again. After longer hours charging of the battery, the phone will come .
For GE 6.0:There is a button on the base lower right corner (NOT the phone), you need to press it once again to turn off Do Not Disturb
For GE 5.8 GHz:1. Pick up the phone handset and dial *98. 2. Press 2 to disable Do Not Disturb. 3. Once you hear the confirmation that Do Not Disturb has been disabled, you may hang up the phone handset. Hope this helps!
