What is the points gap on the 1974 g4 trail boss 100

TS100(letter)_ last digit leater told.
100cc old name dual sport bike street /trail. (sold mine in 1974)
2cycle engine, oil + gas, like a hedge trimmer.
no year told 1973 to 1981 sorry cant guess it.
well buy the shop manual. ? I did for all cars and motor cycles owned .just buy it and read and not do it wrong,ask web persons blind./

I guess you never notices the slots on the base plate.
gap set first then timing is last at the 3 slotted mounts


see x3 there are 3 slots best is leave those alone , lacking a timing light ! TOOL

Ignition Points gap should be 0.35mm (0.014) (rumor, sorry not buying you book for you)
that is the MAG /POINTS base plate,
special tool to get flywheel off. and not wreck it.

2 stroke no valves.

gain access to the points, behind the side engine case. once you can see them, turn over the engine slowly, till you see the points at there biggest gap, top dead center. loosen the one screw that lets the points pivot, and adjust to the correct gap, about 14 thou, or a cardboard buisness card is the correct thickness also

the thickness of a match book cover is how i always did it and worked perfectly,hope this helps you.

adjust the handle underneath , also check to see if the dipstick is showing any oil in the tranny(yellow ring). mine fell out and all the bearings wore out on me after a week of not noticing it. $100 in bearings and seals but a real pain in the *** to seperate two halves of tranny without the urge to screwdriver it.but when the bearings wore out it wouldn't go in reverse and shifting way ahead to get it in drive .

.015 points gap.

0.6 mm
