Chevroleete caviler - car wants to stall or does stall when idling after warmed up - not always. When in drive at idle speeds once in a while cars revs will jump up to 2.5 - then have to restart

Did you clean the idle air control motor, when you cleaned the throttle. Also check for vacuum leaks. The PCM controls the IAC motor. If it to dirty it can stick. Can cause a surge and stall.

Bike will idle but stalls if I touch the throttle

Check fuel flow to carb, if getting free flow to carb the main jet is most likely blocked or the float is stuck. Either one will require removing the carb and cleaning, not difficult but you need to be careful. The hardware is usually soft and will strip easily. You MAY be able to remove the float bowl with the carb still on the bike by loosening the air filter duct clamp and clamps or bolts on the head side, then turning the carb to access the float bowel screws.

check for the pinched vacuum line at the carb,, sportys are hard to locate because they are tucked in way behind , it ay have come disconnected, unless there is a load on the motor it will idle fine, add a little load and you get the feeling no fuel is getting through unless you rev it up

Bike starts fine on choke then ticks over when choke off. within 2-3 mins the revs decrease to the point of stalling. have adjusted tick over to around 900 revs but as soon as engine warm the problem re...

If your bike has ever sat for more than a few months at any time, the carburetors could be plugged with gasoline residue. If so, they will need to be disassembled and cleaned.
Otherwise, make sure all of the normal tune up items have been performed; valves adjusted, air filter, spark plugs, etc. And make sure there are no air leaks between the carburetors and the engine.
Finally, if the above things are all good, then I would perform a compression check. With the throttle held wide open, you should see at least 140psi of compression, on every cylinder. Anything lower than that will cause an erratic idle quality and overall poor performance.

Tick over

You have an air leak after the carburetor. Old, cracked rubber fittings between carb and cylinder will let air into the manifold causing a lean fuel/air mixture. Same is true of "O" rings and gaskets. If there is a leak in the head gasket that will lean the mix also. Fix the air leaks and you fix the problem.

97 TL 1000 won't start after winter storage

Install new sparkplugs. Activate choke. Do not touch throttle. Push starter button. Do not touch throttle. If bike stalls repeat until it stays running, then you may give it a little throttle. If I give my TL any throttle on start up it floods. It usually takes 2 or 3 tries where the bike starts then stalls before it stays running. DO NOT TOUCH THROTTLE UNTIL IT IDLES. THEN GENTLEY.

Rev counter falling below 1000rpm when warm, nearly stalling

If this is a 1.8 petrol model then the idling adjuster/throttle stop screw needs to be adjusted.Slight adjustment can be done without a diagnostic tool ,loosen the lock nut holding the throttle screw found near the throttle cable, adjust this in clockwise to increase revs.
