The valve clearance specification for a Volvo FL10 truck depends on the specific engine model and year of manufacture. Generally, the valve clearance for the FL10 truck with a Volvo D10 engine should be checked and adjusted as follows:
Remove the valve cover: Remove the valve cover to access the valves.
Rotate the engine: Rotate the engine to the top dead center (TDC) position for the cylinder you want to adjust.
Check the valve clearance: Use a feeler gauge to check the clearance between the valve stem and the rocker arm. The specification for the valve clearance should be listed in the engine service manual.
Adjust the valve clearance: If the clearance is not within the specified range, adjust the clearance by loosening the lock nut on the rocker arm and turning the adjustment screw. Tighten the lock nut when the clearance is correct.
Repeat for each cylinder: Repeat the above steps for each cylinder.
Reinstall the valve cover: Once all the valve clearances have been checked and adjusted, reinstall the valve cover.
It is recommended to refer to the engine service manual for specific instructions and specifications for your particular Volvo FL10 engine.
Valve lash is the end of the rocker arm and the valve stem clearance between. When the engine is running, due to the thermal expansion and contraction, if there is no gap between the rocker arm and the valve stem, rocker arm swells, the top valve open, the impact of engine power and economy. Engine valve clearance will be different, usually when the car is cold, the intake valve 0.08-0.10MM, clearance exhaust valves 0.10-0.12MM Car Diagnostic Tool
Both upper and lower washing arms operate on the water pressure and angle of water flowing thru them.
Pressure provided by water pump.
Just about anything that contacts the rotating arm can stop it.
Best thing to do is re-arrange items in dishwasher so that arms can spin freely.
One can always spin washing arms by hand to ensure proper clearance.
you go to the briggs & stratton website, already knowing the numbers from the side of the engine, you look the clearances up under support.
you go to you tube and search, i am sure there will be some videos on there for adjusting rocker arm clearance. one short movie is worth a thousand words. the key is to understand the timing. where the piston is in relationship to where the valve should be. once you have them adjusted, make sure you turn the engine over a few times without the plugs in, and then do it again.
Try to check the oil level of the engine and if the oil needs to be replace then do so, but if the noise is still there after the change oil then thats the time to check the racker arm maybe it needs some tune up and adjustment in the valve.
