Having a issue when I advance the throttle a little or a lot doesn't matter which one and return the throttle to it idle position the bike rpm keep increasing way to high to even put the bike in gear. It does this all on its own and after a few seconds it idles back to normal. No stuck cables or linkage. Any ideas?
I would first suspect an air leak around the manifold. If you are sure the cables are adjusted correctly, when you roll back the throttle you will close the butterfly on the carburetor. This in turn should put the carburetor in idle mode. As an engine needs air and fuel to rev up, your problem lies somewhere in this area. Check the operation of the piston in the carburetor making sure it is totally free to move up and down as this is a CV carburetor (assuming your bike is stock) as if the piston is sticking, this could cause your problem. Check for a broken butterfly shaft as these can break in the middle and not be evident. Check for air leaks by spraying WD40 around the manifold seals while engine is running and if engine changes revs then you have an air leak.
thanks for the advice I will double check the butterfly. the piston moves freely and smooth. Its operating and has vacuum when I push the plunger up and let it drop back down. however I did go ahead and oil my cables again I'll check the butterfly tomorrow to make sure it's going to be closed all the way. I'm still waiting for the one part to come in and that is the vose switch which which operates with vacuum and it advances your timing from what I understand it that was leaking bad from the diaphragm. I did plug off the vaccume line to the voes, but still have the issue but not as bad. I also found a leak where the choke screws into the carb.I will check for more leaks while i wait for the part. I will let you as know as I chase the vaccum leaks. thanks again

Check throttle cable and linkages spray with oil, cable should have 2 mill of free play, check for air leeks.

You will need good battery before you can check the rest of the electrical system.
SOURCE: Idling high
Your sucking in air on the induction circuit somewhere. Probably a split in a pipe around the carbs. This leans out te mixture and raises the revs.
SOURCE: High idle on start-up
Its your idle senser sits on top of the manifold u will see it looking at u when u take off air filter cover. Little black plastic.plug in.

I'm thinkin' possibly you need to run carb cleaner thru it
