I have a 2004 250cc Travelon Enduro dirt bike. I am told it is a Yamaha knock off. I am guessing maybe a WR250F would be the Yamaha version of my Chinese bike. The cable appears to not be hooked up, or could be broken, as there is no movement at the carb when I pull on the choke cable. I may have to buy another but I still do not know how to hook it up at the carb. The bike starts now as it is, I just have to kick it over many times usually to get it to start when cold. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
Some carbs with a cable choke, im assuming the lever is on the handlebars will screw in and no movement will be visible as it all goes on inside the carb, like for instance on my rg125 gamma, it has a lever on the handlebars and the cable goes into a plastic nut that is screwed into the carb, if you remove the plastic nut inside is a plunger and spring and the plunger just blocks a hole stopping the air going through but unless you remove this plastic (sometimes these are brass) nut then you wont see anything happening from the outside, if this nut and cable is missing leaving a hole in your carb then this is going to cause vacuum leak problems which will make starting difficult, a temporary fix could be to just block this hole and make the carb air tight again but make sure you dont block it all the way to the bottom else this will choke your carb and cause rich running, just cap it if you can, you may find just capping it will be good enough for the bike to start just fine as with a vacuum leak you will be running lean which could be why you need the choke in the first place lol

SOURCE: Yamaha Enduro Clutch not engaging
i actuall have a yamaha enduro 100 and had this same problem.
First thing is take the clutch apart take all the rings out and clean them good with momry cloth assemble the clutch compleatly as it came out and when tighting the springs tight them all one turn at a time and after everytime you go around try to move youre clutch with youre bike in gear. if it trys to move it is engageing just keep turning the screws untill they stop. also recomend putting threadlocker on the drive gear bolt and the clutch bolt that holds the clutch on. if you have and questions just e-mail me at [email protected] just make shure to tell me that i responded to youre fixya question about youre bike and i will walk you threw it.
ps just rember to put the clutch pushrod back in

clean contacts on points with sandpaper (800 grit). located behind flywheel, will gurantee a fix. you can remove the side cover and get to contacts through holes in flywheel without removing it.
SOURCE: dirt bike thats hard to start..
needle and seat are worn out in carb, to much fuel is flooding cylinder. remove carb, clean, get new needle and seat, set float. problem goes away. pull your plug after kicking. its probably wet.
When you push, or pull start you evacuate excessive fuel, when engine is warm, easier to start extra fuel burns easier.
