I am mid way through restoring a 1977 Suzuki GS 750 B. I ordered new fork seals and steering head bearings only then to find that the forks in my GS are not GS forks. After some investigating I have found that the forks in my GS are actually GSX Katana forks. I am unsure as to whether the yokes are still original to the GS or if this is possible as the Katana forks are larger. My question is how do I know which bearing kit to go for, for the steering head? Are all yoke stems the same size, as they obviously fit into the head stock of the bike? many thanks Paul
The best way is to measure with a vernia caliper the inside and outside diameter of the top and bottom bearings you already have and compare them with what you were going to buy. for instance the bottom bearing may have a 30mm OD and a 45 mm OD and be 13 mm high.i strongly recommend you fit taper roller bearings to it .
