Bud,
I'm not trying to insult you, however; check Ignition Run/Stop switch. Check ignition fuse; I believe it's a 15amp(Blue). Check Master fuse, 40amp(Orange) I believe on your custom. Battery terms are tighten. Then; possible Run/Stop Switch inopt or possible ignition switch is bad. There is a adapter housing direct push button switch that you can purchase that you would swap for the oem cover on the starter relay. This way you won't get into any wiring problems. I have seen this item on Ebay; just be sure it's the proper switch for your model . If you go this route and it isn't the problem, it won't hurt to have a secondary ignition switch. If you do go that route and the handle bar ignition switch is bad, you just turn key on and push the button and off you go riding.

Good Luck!

What damage may I have done by reverse polarity jump start?

I know nothing about the bike but I would expect the ignition module to be damaged. Electronics does not like being fed power the wrong way.

I have a freshly charged battery but still can't

The alternator could be draining the battery or the cables may not be connected right.

What is causing 2005 flhrsi road king custom speedometer to malfunction.

Hi,
Check first the FUSES, clean the terminals of the fuse and replace if already blown.
The intermitent location of the speedo means a trickle of voltage going into the system. The malfunction came when your charging the battery w/o removing the terminals.
Check and clean the harness connection.
Tell me if there is some more problem.

Due to winter storage the road king will not start

Make sure your battery is fully charged, when you switch the ignition on (red lights on dash), wait for 5 seconds, switch it off and do it again (3 times), do not try to start it till the fourth time. Being fuel injected you are basically priming the fuel system, if this does not work than you need to find out if you have a electrical or fuel related problem.

How to install the battery on a 2005 HD Road King Custom. Where is it? How to get to it?

Since I've never installed a battery in this year model road king, I would suggest this. Find the battery cable that connects to the starter. Follow the battery cable and see where it goes. If it goes up, take the seat off. If it goes down, take the side covers off.

Good Luck
