Hello Aaron, your question is very general so I'll answer it that way. The flashes are like morse code. Yamaha will have a list of problems/diagnoses related to the flashing codes on the engine management light.

FI means a fault in your ignition/fuel injection system, look up fault codes online they will pinpoint the fault for you.http://downloads.hondatech.info/Moto/CBR/CBR929RR.pdf page 125 has list of fault codes . Do you have a Power Commander fitted? these can bring there own problems, try unplugging it all back to standard to see if fault goes away.

u turn them out until the engine reaches max idle RPM and then turn in 1/4 turn.

first what year it may be obd1 system roll key on and off 3 times if it is obd1 it will start flashing first code will be 1 flash then 2 quick flashes this is code 12 thta means computer is reading codes then just start counting flashes they will be intermitant ie 1 flash then 3 quick flashes means 13 and so on when you get to the end of codes it will flash 5 quick then 5 quick again that is the end of your codes
