How to check water pump on 1995 Triumph Thunderbird 900. Coolant leaking into oil.

Are you sure it's the water pump? The most common reason for coolant in the oil is a blown head gasket. Check the coolant to see if there is oil contamination.

Found oil in my coolent expansion tank

Generally speaking, if you have engine oil in the cooling system, you have a leak somewhere in the engine, which could be a head gasket.
Is there any sign of coolant in the engine oil ?

My triumph thunderbird 1600 oil light comes on when the engine is idling oil dipstick reading shows correct levels

Check the oil pump and the oil. If the oil is too thin or the oil pump is worn, that can cause untold damage to your engine!

My husband and I have a 1995 Oldsmobile Aurora. We just changed the oil about 2 weeks ago. He checked the fluids earlier and the oil was low and the car is running hot. What could be causing this?

If you changed the oil filter at the same time check that it hasnt come loose and leaked some oil though there would be signs of that where the car site. If it is overheating check your water as well.

Also check the oil for water and the water for oil as you will want to make sure that you havent done any head damage or blown the gasket.
