My 9 month old Yamaha YZF-R125 has been cutting out at low revs and misfiring. From time to time when I'm riding in the wet, the neutral light comes on when the clutch is pulled in fully and an rare occasions when I start the bike up, the whole display looses power momentarily. Is this a serious electrical fault?

Thanks mate, it's still under warranty though, should the dealer come out and have a look at this?

Thanks for the help. An Engineer from the RAC came out and had a look at it. Had the petrol tank off, air box out and a good look at the carb, couldn't fix it on the spot but he's sure it's carb causing the problem and the switch may need recalibrating. Bike's off to the dealers courtesy of my breakdown assistance and will hopefully be sorted this week.

    Thanks for your help :)

Sounds like you have either got water in the system or poor connections.
You can use something like dielectric grease on each connector. It is a bit of a pain having to open and close each connector on your bike, but once you've done it, you shouldn't need to do it again for a long, long time.

Sure - if it is under warranty you should always have the dealer look at it first. If you fool with it, you are likely to do yourself out of any warranty claims in the future.

Either your coolant has a low top temp range (+102C for example) or you're running on lean mixture. Also check if your thermostat works and opens as it should.
