Why does fuel leak out of the overflow tube on the bottom of the carburetor on my 2005 Honda crf250r I just bought the bike and had it in the garage when I noticed a fuel puddle on the concrete? I found that it was coming out of the overflow tube.

Hi,
You have a blown water pump seal, and it is allowing the coolant to mix with the gear oil.
This seal must be replaced or the motor will sieze ant the crank.
Do not run the motor until the repair has been conducted
Cheers
Jon
SOURCE: How much tranny oil do you put in 2005 CRF250R after oil change?
You'lll need to put .7 liters of oil on your bike. When you changed the filter, you'll need to add .8 liters of oil.
Hope this helps! i'd appreciate a rating!

This sounds to me like a carb float being stuck open. Turn off the gas and drain the offending carb. Next, turn the gas back on and sharply tap the float bowl with the plastic handle of a screwdriver as the fuel bowl refills. The goal here is to vibrate the float to free it up. If doing this process a couple of times does not free the float I would remove the carb and clean it with a spray carb cleaner. Clean the air filter then re-mount carb. Next Remove the water trap bowl at the bottom of the petcock, (gas valve). Dump it, clean it and re-mount it, ( not all bikes have a water trap bowl ). Install an inline fuel filter.
Please rate this solution. Thanks!

The carburator seems to be overflowing.
You will have to adjust the float pin and probabely there may be some dirt and thus it doesn't seal off the flow of the gas once the float chamber is full.

If you are talking about the CRF250r and not the CRF250X. I can probably help. I put a Fan on my CRF450R.To avoid over talking it without a specific question, what the X model has that the R model dose nt have is a clean DC power source, fan mounts, or Thermistat switch.
None of these are a big problem except when talking to other people to find out what you need.
I used a 2005 250x fan kit on my bike it comes with the most basic kit, a fan & a thermal switch.
Then I orderd a condencer from trail teck, to use instead of a battery. Not likly to ware out, and I, am not using a fan when the motore isnt running.
I alsoe neded a DC regulator. Basicaly all I am doing is adding a basic DC light Kit to my bike in oder to ad the DC Fan in its place. I run boath
I could not get any information on the fan From Honda without ordering one and testing the draw on my own.
It draws very little, a 250X youses a 35What light bulb wich is small and still can run the Fan.
The stator on the 250r has two leads making AC power. The aftermaket stator you buy should have two leads pluse two more leads that can be run as AC or DC light depending on if you yous one or boath of the extra wires.
Here is a link to see some one using the kit. IF I an figure ou t how to do it I will do one myself
