With my 98 model it is a small black screw in an opening on the left fairing just below the fuel tap. clockwise to increase the idle speed and anti-clock to lower it.
2 and 1/2 just a point of refrence, it might have just as well been 1 1/2, when cleaning carbs disasemble them,as just using spray or add to the tank cleaners cant remove solids stuck in carbs and filters.Also look for any damage to ductwork at carbs that could let in any unregulated air.
You need a carb syncronizer. If you call around to your local bike shop or shop on ebay, you should be able to find one for about $100.00 or less. It is well worth the money because if you set your carbs properly, your bike will run like never before.
the frame should be the same. the difference between the gsx and gsxr, is that one is a two stroke and one is a four stroke. the frames should be the same. what are you doing with these bike, first.......
