people post here and do not tell what kind of car it is.. really helps if we know.. if the car has a clutch mast er cylinder and it is out of fluid than YES.. thats yyour problem.. But the question is what made this happen.. A LEAK.. the leak can be a bad clutch master or a bad clutch slave cylinder or the line that connects the two.. at worst it would be a collasped clutch cover or threw out bearing.. probably a leak or bad cylinder,

SOURCE: Stuck in 5th gear

That just recently happened to me. If your stick wont move into any of the gears, then you need a clutch. But if you can shift into the gears but dont go anywhere, then you need a new transmission.

Check your clutch fluid box located by your breaks master cylinder. Your clutch works like your breaks in that when you press the clutch pedal it uses hydraulics to disengage your clutch plate. If it's low or not working properly your clutch plate won't fully disengage and could lead to more problems.

Where do i put clutch fluid

in the break fluid reservoir just use dot 3 break fluid. the clutch line is tapped into the break line so the one reservoir supply's both the breaks and the clutch fluid.
