I have not had this bike too long so I am not too familiar with what I'm looking at, but the canister that houses the filter for what I think is the fuel system has fuel pouring out from it. It looks as if fuel should go there but I do not see its practicality since there is no where for it to go.
Annon, You would not be the first Virago owner to have carburetor float sticking or dirt under the needle. If you are comfortable doing so, remove carbs. and clean or rebuild or have a good Tech. do it for you. "I hope this helped you out, if so let me know by pressing the helpful button. Probabilly a stuk carburettor float or needle.
Try to solve this problem to gently tap on the carburettor bodies. If this doesn't help you have to clean out the carburettors, and/or replace the float neeldes
P0443 The fuel vapor canister reduces that gas smell on hot days outside/inside of car. The fuel vapor canister fillers bad smells from gas tank on hot days when the gas expands and burps fumes through carbon canister filter. From the canister (gas vapor fumes) goes back into the engine to be burned again...it's a closed loop for vapors to be recycled though engine. Don't worry, once the carbon canister dries out and no longer flooded with raw fuel the code should go away...just don't let the top off fuel tank back flow into the 'Evap emission control' carbon filter near the top and close to the gas cap...:)
