What engine oil should I use on my rd350lc also could you please tell me what size jets to use the engine is standard with nicon pipes as the bike is running rich

that seems to be what they do, i too have a 650a and have jardines on with baffles, it still pops and cackles when you roll off the gas. are you running no baffels? when i took mine out i noticed a drop in power as i had removed the requierd back pressure for optimum performance. you can get small baffles to slip into straight pipes from jc whitney for about $5 each.
anyway back to the backfire. my local bike shop shrugged their sholders when i asked them about mine saying it's what they do. you will get used to it and you will find a way to kinda not make it do it so much. i actually have grown to like it now, except when there are cops about.

You will have to adjust the float pin of tht particular carb and don't remove them off the rack..just pull them out of the engine and work on the one tht needs attention.

You have either a stuck or damaged valve due to overheating. Straight pipes are bad for Yamaha's because they remove all back pressure, causing the air to flow too fast through your Carbs and sometimes dislodging O-Rings. A performance carb will eliminate this problem and provide better air-flow. You can try some performance carbs by Mikuni or Kei-Hinn, but you will need to deal with that valve first. If you are lucky, it may just be sticky, but if it's cracked you can do a compression test to see how bad, or even if it is.

Mate, what you are describing an Engine trouble warning light. If any of those circuits are defective, the engine trouble warning light will come on, and then the multi-function display will indicate a two-digit error code (e.g., 11, 12, 13). If the multi-function display indicates such an error code, note the code number, and then have a Yamaha dealer check the motorcycle. As all those require a specialized testing tool I would recommend you to take it to a dealer unless you know what you're looking for. Good luck and don't 4get to rate the advise. Cheers
This warning light comes on or flashes when an electrical circuit monitoring the engine is defective. When this occurs, have a Yamaha dealer check the self-diagnosis system.
