SOURCE: My FZR 600 is acting up and backfires

I have had several bikes in my time. and keeping the carbs syncranized is very important. Did you put aftermarket pipes on it? try rejeting the carbs up 2+mm that may help the fuel air ratio?

SOURCE: 2003 WR250 F - eng. won't idle down and carb starts to overflow

Hi Jwelden,
Have you checked the float level in the float chamber?
I guess you may have to reset the float pin adjustment, its allowing more gas to pass through thn required and thus the overflow!
Not bad too, when you are working on the float assembly take the opportunity to blow out the fuel line from petcock to the carburator via the seat for the float pin,any foreign particals there would stop the float pin to seal up and thus overflow.
Fit in an inline fuel filter , this will help keep out the dirt or whatever.
Hope this helps.

SOURCE: bike runs at Idle but dies when given gas

have you changed the fuel filter? you are not getting enough gas, are jets squeaky clean? there is a good fuel system cleaner in the USA called Berrymans B12. put some in the tank warm up bike then let it stand overnight and see what happens. if still no luck repeat process. if you still have same problem then get new fuel filter

good luck

SOURCE: carbs were removed and cleaned. now starts hard and does not idle

sounds like carbs not cleaned right, oh try changing fuel filter, does fuel pump run constantly. if you cant hear it you can feel it, up behind the ignition. Berrymans B12 fuel additive works wonders. double dose add to gas run bike til hot then let stand overnight, pray a lot and try it again.

Radian idles high at 4 g then drops down to 21/2 g then dies

Your Radian has 4 Mikuni carbs. If just one has a stuck float or one set incorrectly it will overflow with gas and run out. The bike will run poorly if at all. You need to pull all the carbs and clean them thoroughly. Check you r fuel line too for leaks and cracks. Make sure your air filter is clean and the boot going to the carbs from the airbox. Check the boots on both sides of the carbs for cracks. Air leaks can cause the idle issues you describe but you have to fix the overflowing carbs first which might fix all of it. Make sure you have a nice large work area, don't lose the small jets or strip the bolts. This answer is directly for your issue you have presented. Good luck!

When you cleaned up the carbs did you also clean out the low speed idle jets? They are the first thing to plug up when your bike sits with out gas stabilizer in the tank. The bike runs great at speed but will not idle properly.

If the bike starts up and the idle speed creeps to high revs all on its' own, this indicates an air leak somewhere between the center throat of the carb and the cylinder head. This is normally a rubber seal or rubber manifold that is old, hard and cracked. I am sure the carbs need to be cleaned, remounted and adjusted. This is a nightmare for the novice mechanic. Replace all rubber fittings and seals including hose fittings and hoses.
