I turn on fuel, try starting bike but floods, fuel runs fast thru carb and out of air filter . took apart carb , needle seating ok and float seems to be functioning ok too. also if fuel is turned on without trying to start , same happens ..
If this happens immediately after the fuel is turned on and your float and needle are known good (Check float by dropping float in fuel, check needle by holding closed and putting air or carb cleaner in fuel inlet.) then, your float height is incorrect. If there is a drain at the bottom of your carb add a clear hose and put fuel to fuel inlet on carb. Open the drain and check your fuel height (bring the hose above the carb making a J shape). On my keihin carb it is about at the bowl split line.
Try screwing the bolt of the fuuel holderr in the carborator, whhichh is generally used for overflow, screw it tight ,

sounds like the needle and seat is not sealing.It is a common problem when bics are stored over winter.Either remove carb and clean nedle and seat or replace to be sure.

Well there only one way the fuel can get into the crankcase and that's from the fuel tank. The petcock must be draining and the float needles are not stopping the fuel flow. Do you have a prime position on the petcock? If so do not run the bike in the position. Try topping the tank off with gas and letting it sit for a while and see is the gas has gone down and then check the crankcase and see if there's fuel in it again. i still say its got to be your petcock.

I would say the problem is in your carbys, with the float levels, or a sticky needle and seat. If you open the fuel valve, fuel will flow into the carbys, ans shut off once the correct level is reached. I think the problem is in your carbys, not the fuel valve. I would remove the carbys, take the bowel off the bottom, and check the needle and seat, and float levels. It is not recomended to change the float levels from standard.
