Generally when the chain comes off it is because it is too loose or has gotten something in it.
There may be something lodged by the front or rear sprocket.
Did you check the teeth on both sprockets after reinstalling the chain?
Is the chain bent sideways? (not likely but possible)
Has the chain been properly adjusted since it came off?
Is the rear wheel straight in the frame?

Try removing the chain, start the bike, and, with the engine idling, pull in the clutch and put the bike in gear. Release the clutch and see if the bike will continue to run (like it was going forward). If it stops suddenly, you have internal engine or transmission problems. If it seems to operate properly, you have eliminated internal problems.

If your test shows internal problems retrace the steps you took to repair the magneto. Look for a bent shaft or any pieces of metal. When an engine is stopped or overreved suddenly bad things sometime happen. Remove the spark plug and turn the engine by hand. Is it rough or irregular? Does it make strange sounds?

Hi I have a Bajaj Discover 125 2006 model and recently the engine has started overheating massively, the power of bike has also come down and the avg has also taken a hit. I have changed engine oil, oil...

Start by installing a new chain. Any chain that kinks up is a funeral, (yours), waiting to happen. Chances are that replacing the chain will fix all the problems you mentioned.

I have a 250sx and had the same proble my kicker wont go down what do i do

did you recently overheat the engine? it may be locked up. put the bike on a milk crate so the back wheel is off the ground. put the tranny in 3rd gear, and spin the back wheel. if the wheel wont turn, you burned up your motor, (seized your piston to the cylinder by overheating or running out of oil) or fried your transmission. if it turns the motor, you probably broke a tooth on the kicker gear anddthe broken piece is stuck in the gear..

Hi just got a kymco stryker, the bloke said that it would make a clunkin sound in 2nd 3rd and 5th (sounds like the chain jumping) but on the way home , he said it was best to stay out of 5th,i did so...

I doubt that the chain was jumping the sprocket. A chain that loose would wrap up around the front sprocket and lock up the engine and/or bust up the center case. It sounds like the bike has some serious transmission problems. The bike probably has bent shift forks and a few busted gear teeth and possibly broken dogs on a slider gear. The bloke ripped you off. The wheel being out of line is not a factor. Please rate my answer. Thanks.

Chain keeps fallin off!

Does the rear wheel go on such that you can adjust it to take any play out of the chain? If so, turn the bike upside down or put it on a bike stand. Loosen the back wheel and pull it so that the chain is tighter and then tighten the wheel. There are other possible causes but I suspect this since you recently removed the wheel. Also I'm not sure how often the chain falls off. If this doesn't work, ask again and let us know how often its coming off. Good luck!

My rm 80 1stand 2nd gear locks wheels

If your rear wheel is locked up in first and second gear with the engine running, this is not a good sign. Have you ever ran the bike without oil in the transmission? Every time I've seen this, the chain was thrown off the bike and it busted the cases. The oil leaked out of the cases and the transmission locks up. Generally, it locks in fifth gear but it could lock up in any or no gear.

Your problem sounds like something is wrong with the low gear-second gear "clutch gear". The clutch gear is gear that slides sideways on one of the transmission shafts to engage the proper gears. If the bike will roll when in neutral, these may be the only gears affected. If the bike will not roll when in neutral, your problem may be in countershaft. Either way, the transmission could be damaged.

Now, if you're talking about the rear wheel locking up if you try to push start the bike, this is because in low and second gear, there isn't enough mechanical advantage in the transmission to overcome the engine compression. Remember, you transferring torque through the transmission backwards when you try to push start the bike. Try starting the bike using third or fourth gear instead. Standing on the pegs and dropping onto the seat when you release the clutch helps.
