1993 XLH turn signal issue

It started with a burned out rear turn signal, now when key is on all is fine, signals, flashers...when bike is running, signal stays on, no flash. (emergency flashers do work though) I did replace the stock lenses to flat lenses some years back but the problem started long after. Have replaced the flasher unit, checked and cleaned every ground point, changed every bulb....AAAHHHH!!!

How about looking at ALL of the fuses? A blown fuse can create lots of "back circuits" which will confuse you when trying to diagnose an electrical problem.

Hey I own a 2005 sportster 883C. I have turn signal problem, thouhgt if anyone can help. When I turn the ignition on only the left side flashes, so I thought maybe its fuses. I checked...

although you can cancel the left turn signal there you could still have a faulty switch which is not turning on the right side signals

also have you checked to see if the bulbs are bad, as sometimes a short can blow both front and rear bulbs

My front turn signals have been removed .Now when I turn I have to manually click the signal buttons to show Im turning from the rear .If I reinstall the front signals will I have to continue to do this or...

Yes, when the system senses an open, like a burned out or missing lamp, it glows solid as a warning. As long as they didn't remove the flasher and circuitry, you should be able to make it work right.

Need to know what fuse runs the turnsignal flasher in a 883 1997 sportster

The 1997 Sporty did not use a turn signal flasher unit. It uses a turn signal control module instead. This module controls all turn signals and four way flasher. It also performs the "cancelling" function once the time limit has run out on the flashing process. It's a "black box" about 1 1/2 inch wide by 3 inches long by about a 1/2 inch thick. It gets it's power from the Lights fuse 10 amps. If you contact me directly, I can scan you a wiring diagram and e-mail it to you. [email protected]

Turn signal doesn't blink just lights up

You should check the bulbs first. Front and rear, park, brake and turn signals. I think you will find there is either a bad bulb or possibly a faulty socket. If those are fine it may be a flasher problem. You can find the flasher by turning the signal switch to the side that works with the key on and find the clicking flasher. Good luck!!!
