The starter solenoid has 2 red/white stripes and they are hot all of the time. The yellow?orange, red? are dead and the yellow/green is dead also when key is on and pushing starter button.
Michael is correct!
Check the fuse on the starter solenoid .
Testimonial: "Thanks for your time. The fuse is ok. I can jump the yellow/orange wire at push button and solenoid will energize the starter. The only other thing I don't understand is the CDI unit. Everything else seems to check out. I am not getting any voltage at the starter button on handlebars."

Just because it's new, doesn't mean it works.
This is why cars get recalled.
The iron-clan test of a non-working solenoid is to cross the relay terminals. If you do and it starts.. it's bad.
Take it back. you purchased a dud. It happens.

CHECK WIRING INSIDE HEAD LIGHT COVER AND ALSO TRACE WIRES FROM START SWITCH TO SEE IF YOU HAVE A BROKEN OR GROUNDED OUT WIRE

ALSO CHECK BATTERY AND SEE IF YOU MIGHT HAVE MISSED A WIRE THAT SHOULD BE CONNECTED
