SOURCE: misfire & spluttering when warm

Hi wayne

Not knowing what you have checked or done already, I would first remove the spark plug from the bike and check it fir a carbon deposits. If it has not had a new one for a while, Just get a new one and replace it. Before I drop the oil for a service(as it can dirty up the oil), I also like to run a fuel system cleaner additrive(I use a Nulon product) to my bikes every few thousand kays, just to keep everything tip top. If you still have misfire problems, then it will most likely be a faulty sparkplug cap, ignition lead or other ignition part. Change out/clean spark plug with a wire brush first. I think that will fix it for you. If you still have problems, happy to talk to you more about it.

regards
robotek

SOURCE: feels like a misfire

It's time to adjust the valves. You have tight valves and most likely need to adjust the cam chain. This is classic when the valves are tight. Most likely you can start it up when cold ok but after a few minutes performance deteriorates this being due the valve lash being to tight.
The miss fire is due to a lean situation.

If you have added aftermarket pipes then you could have a fuel mixture problem, or even dirt or grime in the fuel path, I would either rejet the carbs or I would do a good fuel system cleaning.

Your carb may be adjusted a little lean. Try adjusting the needle, keeping track of the changes you make, and blipping the throttle full to check the result.

I have a 2001 Suzuki liana 1.6l and when taking off from the lights the car faltered and now has a lack of power.

scan it yet? that be first.
you put in new cop coils before new spark plugs/
why?

btw that effect is called misfire, when it misfires, power drops.
example on a 4 cylinder if 1 goes dead, its not 3cylinder engine
with 1/4 loss of power (its less due to 3 dragging 1 dead horse)

There are no less than 50 causes of misfire
#1 all time reasons , bad spark plugs.
due to never ever getting tuneup on time.
#1 for 100 years, and running.
your engine dont read statistics so can be 49 more.

Motorcycle loses power and just revs when accelerating

the problem is not your tuning, it is your clutch. Motorcycle clutches are maintained as light as possible to stop heavy pressure on your fingers. often when you increase hp, you must increase your spring pressure on your clutch plates so the first thing is to adjust your clutch, if it is too tight it will slip under load (more load = more slip). second, clutches do wear out so if adjusting does not work you will have to inspect your clutch plates for wear and may even have to increase your spring pressure, this is a big job and you will need special gear to do it

My jeep CRD 2.7 started to misfire at low revs in the mornings but seemed ok when warm. the injector on cylinder 1 then started to leak and it went into limp mode, this was repaired.A few weeks later it as...

Austrian assembled Cherokee's have a 5 cylinder 2.7 Mercedes motor. These are a serious piece of kit and put the US product to shame. Sadly they still suffer from the usual reliability issues . The worst of which is the habit of blowing the injector seals . As the engine is a tight fit and removing the rear two injectors require dropping the motor, this can be a very expensive problem and can happen as early as 40000kms. Still a great machine!!

Misfire on cylinder 4 only when accelerating

Try a compression test. You could have a bent valve or a bad ring on the piston. If the compression test shows it to be much lower than the other cylinders then its a mechanical problem. The valve may not be seating or a weak spring isn't allowing the valves to close and its leaking under load.
